The signac project was published in volume 146 of the Journal of Computational Materials Science! The article can be downloaded for free up until April 11th 2018 following this link.

The article highlights signac’s main design philosophy, provides a little more background information on the implementation and features some minimal examples on how to use signac and signac-flow. A rigorous performance benchmark demonstrates signac’s ability to handle even larger data space sizes. All tests results are compared to the performance of datreant.core.
